Alexander String Quartet Concert

asq_4_295The Alexander String Quartet will perform a concert sponsored by a generous gift from the Aaron Silberman Concert Series. This premier ensemble, now in their 34th year has performed in major venues on five continents. Lauded for their interpretations of Beethoven, Mozart and Shostakovich, the quartet’s recordings of the Beethoven cycle, and the Bartók and Shostakovich cycles have all won international critical acclaim. Works to be performed are Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 7 in F-sharp minor, Op. 108 (1960), and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 9 in C major, Op. 59, No. 3 (1808). Admission is free.
