Alice Walker & Eve Ensler

She’s been called a muse for our times; a writer with an extraordinary ability to both touch and propel the reader to action.

As she publishes her new collection of poetry, The World Will Follow Joy, and a new book of meditations The Cushion in the Road, join Alice Walker for an inspiring discussion with V-Day founder Eve Ensler about her activisim and her writing, her conflicting impulses to retreat into inner contemplation and to remain deeply engaged with the world.

Alice Waker was the first African-American woman to win the Pullitzer Prize for fiction, for The Color Purple, which subsequently became a Spielberg movie and Broadway show. She’s also known for her many volumes of poetry and powerful nonfiction collections.

Eve Ensler is a Tony award winning playwright, performer and activist. She is the award-winning author of The Vagina Monologues, which has been published in 48 languages and performed in over 140 countries. She is also the founder of V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women and girls, which has raised over 80 million dollars. Eve’s newest work is a memoir, In the Body of the World.
