An Anarchist’s Guide to Feminism: Lola Lafon at PEN World Voices Festival

French composer, singer, and writer Lola Lafon will participate to the 11th annual PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature.

Of French, Russian and Polish background, Lafon was raised in the equally diverse cities of Bucharest, Sofia and Paris. She is the author of four novels, including the recently translated We Are the Birds of the Coming Storm.

Part of PEN Wolrd Voices Festival, Lola Lafon will discuss at Albertine Books in French and English her newly translated novel, feminism, labor movements and her own political activism and work with underserved youth. “I am beginning to realize that I’m exiled from my sex. A voluntary exile. Against the woman I should have been. The ‘real life’ I should have led.”
