Begin your Friday evening with two legends in the art world, figurative and pop art painter, Alex Katz and writer, memoirist, Rosamond Bernier. The two will discuss Alex Katz’s new book, Alex Katz: Maine, New York.

Alex Katz’s work is in over 100 public collections in the world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, The Smithsonian Institution, Art Institute of Chicago, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris and Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid. Rosamond Bernier was the co-founded of the art journal L’Oeil which she edited until 1969. During this time she was close friends with some of the world’s most influential artists including Matisse, Picasso and Miro which she has documented in her book, Matisse, Picasso and Miro and in Some of My lives: A Scrapbook Memoir. Bernier has become renowned as an art lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and at other art institutions
