Marcus Samuelsson is the chef and co-owner of the elegant Aquavit and the exceedingly popular Red Rooster. He is a fixture on the Food Network as a commentator, judge, and participant. He is also the author of four cookbooks including The New America Table.

Amanda Hesser was the food editor of The New York Times until 2008. After she left, she developed and co-created Food52, an exciting food /recipe site. She is the writer of the award-winning Cooking for Mr. Latte and The Cook and the Gardener. Her book, The Essential New York Times Cookbook, was a New York Times bestseller and the winner of a James Beard award.
