Behind-The-Scenes Interactive Animal Experience @ Staten Island Zoo

Join New York Adventure Club or an exclusive, interactive experience at Staten Island Zoo as we get up close and personal with some of its most celebrated animals, such as sloths, porcupines, snakes, and more!

This special access tour, led by the zoo’s education department staff, will take us behind-the-scenes throughout the following facilities:

Baby Animal Nursery – A special opportunity to see pet, feed, and photograph baby animals, which could include arctic foxes, cavies, sloth, groundhog, kangaroo, and tamandua.

Hospital – A walkthrough of the hospital facility to learn about the surgery, radiography, and darting equipment used to treat injured animals. Current inhabitants in this wing include giant anteaters and Galápagos tortoises.

Commissary – A rare look at the daily operations of diet preparation for the animals.

Educational Animal Wing – The chance to see some of the other ambassador animals including snakes, lizards, and small raptors. We will also take an up-close look at our spider and insect collection.
