Join authors and photographers James and Karla Murray at Powerhouse Arena (Dumbo) for a night celebrating the release of their newest title, STORE FRONT II—A HISTORY PRESERVED: THE DISAPPEARING FACE OF NEW YORK. The Murrays will present a slideshow of their favorite images from the book with a focus on diverse Brooklyn locations, then participate in a Q&A session and book signing.

New York-based James and Karla Murray have been capturing impeccable photographs from the streets of New York City since the 1990s; Store Front II chronicles their continued efforts to document a little-known but vitally important cross-section of New York’s “Mom and Pop” economy. The authors’ landmark 2008 book, Store Front, was lauded by critics, and its companion book New York Nights was awarded the New York Society Library’s prestigious New York City Book Award in 2012.
