Breaking Out: Reflections on Life Behind Bars

Did you know that the US has only 5% of the world’s population but accounts for 25% of the world’s total prison population? Do you have a friend or loved one who has been “locked up”? Who are these people? Unfortunately, while so many of our fellow Americans are incarcerated, our understanding of their experiences is limited, and what we think we know is usually based on stereotypical portrayals of “criminals” and “convicts” on television and in the media. Join us at QED for a special storytelling event that brings formerly incarcerated men and women to the stage to share their powerful stories.

This event is made possible through a collaboration between Dr. Cory Rowe and Human Interest, a not-for-profit storytelling project.
