Even the greatest scientists have made serious blunders. In this lecture, renowned astrophysicist Mario Livio discusses errors by such giants as Charles Darwin, Lord Kelvin, Linus Pauling, Fred Hoyle, and Albert Einstein. Livio, the author of the new book Darwin to Einstein: Colossal Mistakes by Great Scientists That Changed Our Understanding of Life and the Universe, aims to elucidate potential causes of such blunders and argues that they are not only inevitable, but they are also an essential part of progress in science.
