This session takes us to the settings of Verdi’s Otello and Simon Boccanegra, traveling from the spice-rich world of Venice to Cyprus and back to Genoa. We’ll discuss the spice trade as well as the lasting influences of the sea on the development of Mediterranean cuisine.
