Drunk TED Talks: School’s Out

Summer is coming, and Drunk TED Talks is here. Why is the institution of schooling so lame when the act of learning is so fun? Is college on the way out? Will we ever again need to fill in bubbles with a number two pencil? Come hear talks and jokes about all aspects of schooling and education, from the horror of graduating to the sex scenes in Van Wilder.

Eric Eidelstein is a freelance writer based in New York. He mostly writes about film and TV. He received a Bachelor of Arts from New York University two weeks ago. He doesn’t know what to do with it.

Suzy Exposito is a writer, illustrator and musician in Brooklyn. She is currently the online producer at Rolling Stone. She was previously the assistant editor at MTV Iggy and has previously contributed to Pitchfork, Rookie Mag, and Bitch. She volunteers annually at Girls Rock! camp and fronted NYC punk band Shady Hawkins. She graduated from the New School in 2011 with a BA in Writing and a minor in Gender Studies.

Julie Lauren Vick has an MFA in fiction, which means she works in luxury spas and as a part time nanny. She’s currently working on a short story collection.

Erik Hinton is a graphics editor and journalist for the Wall Street Journal and a writer for no one in particular. His work has appeared in the New York Times, VICE, Five Dials, and some other places. He knows his way around a Celine Dion karaoke setlist and loves clay facial products, ya know masks and whatnot.
