Driving Miss Daisy by Alfred Uhry

It is Atlanta, 1948. Daisy Werthan is, at 72, active, sharp, and perfectly competent. A car accident leads her son to hire Hoke Colburn to drive her around. Thus begins a relationship that spans 25 years, plus racial, religious, and class divisions, as the white, Jewish Daisy and the black, unlettered Hoke confront entrenched prejudice and develop a mutual respect, even affection.
