Ethics and the Theater—”Lips Together, Teeth Apart”

Two couples bound together by marriage, blood, and a marital indiscretion share a beach house on Fire Island for the Fourth of July.

Over the course of the day, they cook, eat, drink, and dance, but mostly they talk—comically, cuttingly, poignantly—to, over, and at one another and themselves, about love, infidelity, fear, disease, death, and musical comedy.

Come at 6:30 for a reception and after the reading participate in a discussion of the ethical issues of the play, led by Betsy Ungar.

Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead (212-874-5210 x107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
