On November 6th at 7pm, Book Culture will host the fall edition of eXfoliation, a literary reading series featuring two poets and two writers of prose. Hosted by David Moscovich of Louffa Press.
About the readers:
A. H. JERRIOD AVANT is a native of Longtown, Mississippi. A graduate of Jackson State University, he is one of the newest members of the Affrilachian Poets. Jerriod is an alumnus of the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop at Brown University in Providence, RI and a 2013 Pushcart nominee. His poems have appeared in the Louisville Review, PLUCK!, A Narrow Fellow, Rumpus, Callaloo, Pinwheel,H_NGM_N, Madcap Review and are forthcoming fromLumberyard. Jerriod is currently an MFA candidate and Writer in the Public Schools Fellow at New York University. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
MATT DOJNY’S debut novel, The Festival of Earthly Delights, was published by Dzanc Books in June 2012, and is now available in paperback. Dojny’s work has recently appeared in Electric Literature, A Public Space, and Vol. 1 Brooklyn. Visit him at hiphopisthefuture.com, where he posts a drawing a day.
AMY FUSSELMAN is a writer and editor based in New York City. She is the author of The Pharmacist’s Mate and 8, or more recently, The Pharmacist’s Mate/8. She has written for The New York Times, ARTnews, Ms magazine, and The Rumpus. She also edits the art and literary journal, Ohio Edit.
CLAUDIA SEREA is a Romanian-born poet who immigrated to the U.S. in 1995. Her poems and translations have appeared in New Letters, 5 a.m., Meridian, Word Riot, Apple Valley Review, and many others. A four-time Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee, she is the author of Angels & Beasts (Phoenicia Publishing, Canada, 2012), The System (Cold Hub Press, New Zealand, 2012), and A Dirt Road Hangs from the Sky (8th House Publishing, Canada, 2013). The mission behind LOUFFA PRESS is to foster a venue for limited edition, collectible, handmade chapbooks by a wide array of authors whose voices must be heard. Louffa Press specializes in innovative fiction and poetry, with a catalogue including writers such as Steve Katz, Stacey Levine, Mike Topp and others.
