Existentialism and Romantic Love: A Reading

book talks nycJoin us as Dr. Skye Cleary discusses her new book “Existentialism and Romantic Love” with Palgrave Macmillan’s New York Philosophy Editor Phil Getz, and the cover designer Sam Smith.  A meet and greet and book signing will follow.

The book investigates the thinking of five radical existential philosophers to uncover insights about what is wrong with our everyday ideas about romantic loving, why reality often falls short of the ideal, sources of frustrations and disappointments, and possibilities for creating authentically meaningful relationships.

Dr. Skye Cleary (PhD, MBA) works at Columbia University, co-founded the Manhattan Love Salon, teaches at the New York Public Library, and is a certified fellow with the American Philosophical Practitioners Association.  Prior to academia, Skye was an international equity arbitrageur and management consultant.

Presented in the 1st floor Willa Cather Community Room.
