Free Talks: Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi (Meru)

Jimmy Chin is a professional mountaineer, director and adventure-sports photographer whose dramatic lensing of severe environments has been featured in National Geographic, Adventure, ESPN magazine, and The North Face. His latest adventure is told in the film Meru, in which he and veteran climbers Conrad Anker and Renan Ozturk struggle to scale Mount Meru, one of the most dangerous yet irresistible challenges in the high-stakes game of Himalayan big-wall climbing. The film was co-directed by Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi. Her other documentaries include Youssou N’Dour: I Bring What I Love, A Normal Life, Touba, and the upcoming Incorruptible.

Join Chin and Vasarhelyi, who will share highlights from their treacherous experience on Meru, in the Amphitheater at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.

Free tickets will be distributed at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center box office (144 W. 65th St., between Broadway and Amsterdam) on a first-come, first-served basis starting one hour prior to the talks. Limit one ticket per person, subject to availability.
