Someone is probably watching you right now. In fact, something is probably recording you, taking down your words, gestures, secrets and shames. Therein lies the central issue of Garret Keizer’s Privacy, a survey of the post-9/11 digital era, where the personal and the public have become terrifyingly entwined.

Keizer, a contributing editor of Harper’s Magazine and recent Guggenheim fellow, examines the constantly shifting concept of privacy in the wake of intrusions both major and minor, finding that what once was a sacred American right has become terrifyingly compromised.

He will be in conversation with Chris Beha, author of the recent novel What Happened to Sophie Wilder? and an associate editor with Harper’s Magazine.
