The opening of Genesis Breyer P-Orridge: Try to Altar Everything: an exhibition exploring the role of ritual, communion, and devotion in the art and life of artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Incorporating new works produced in Nepal this past fall, Try to Altar Everything will present dynamic opportunities to personally interact with the artist and engage with the thought-provoking themes of self-expression, identity and willful reincarnation.
6:00–9:00 PM
Bring a small personal offering to the Museum and participate in the site-specific work Try to Altar Every Thing, an ongoing installation during which the artist will arrange and rearrange the offerings throughout the gallery.
The first one thousand participants will receive an editioned “psychic cross” designed by the artist in exchange for their contribution.
6:00–10:00 PM
The K2 Lounge will be open for drinks, with a music set by DJ Edley, a longtime collaborator with Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. P-Orridge will be in attendance during the exhibition opening.
