Glenn Ligon’s multi-media work explores issues related to race, sexuality, representation and language.

He has had solo exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hirschorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and the Dia Center for the Arts. Kathy Halbreich is the associate director of the Museum of Modern Art and is working on a Sigmar Polke retrospective.
