“Gun-orrhea, America’s Most Life-Threatening Social Disease”

GuncontrolDr. Anne Klaeysen, Leader
Chris Bernhardt presides
From the OK Corral in then Arizona Territory in 1881 to the Wildlife Refuge in Oregon in 2016, the United States has grappled with gun control. The majority of Americans, even gun owners and NRA members, favor background checks. Yet politicians cave into the gun industry, even blocking research funding on the health implications of gun violence, an epidemic unique to American culture. Why are Americans obsessed with guns? Is it a social disease? What makes us different from other countries?
Leader Anne Klaeysen explores these and other questions in this platform.
