The History of Science: The Industrial Revolution

We will explore how the Industrial Revolution was the Enlightenment’s biggest and most successful assault on reality and what we can do to get the world back. Having harnessed many of nature’s powers through science we proceeded to remake the world in our image. Or at least in the image we have of ourselves. It has led to wide-spread environmental destruction, famine and war. And some would say some good things. In the end are iPhones, mass produced inexpensive clothing and oysters in every restaurant really worth it? Let’s consider what other types of worlds we could build.
