Hollywood in the New Cold War | Caught in the Crossfire: International Media and Politics

The Cold War had a profound effect on African, Asian, Latin American as well as on Caribbean nations and people, whether the US embargo against Cuba, the US propping up dictatorships in Haiti and Dominican Republic or destabilizing politics in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.

Join us for a screening of the film Forward Ever: The Killing of a Revolution (1 hour 53 minutes, 2013), which explores the short lived Grenada Revolution of 1979-1983. The revolution, an armed insurrection against a pro-US dictatorship ended in bloodshed when then President Ronald Reagan ordered the invasion of Grenada and the revolution’s leadership was subsequently executed.
