Ingrid Betancourt was born on December 25, 1961, in Bogotá, Colombia. In 1994, she served in Colombia’s Congress and was a senator from 1998 to 2000. In 2002, Betancourt was kidnapped by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) while campaigning for the presidency. After the FARC released her in 2008, she strove to free other hostages and wrote a memoir about her experience.

Diane von Fürstenberg, one of the world’s most successful fashion designers, impressed the fashion world when she introduced her now-iconic “wrap dress” in 1972. Now a global luxury lifestyle brand, her fashion company is available in over 70 countries. In 2014, von Furstenberg was listed by Forbes as the 68th most powerful woman in the world and in 2015, Time Magazine named her to the Time 100, as an Icon.
