JHUMPA LAHIRI “In Other Words”

With the presentation of “In Other Words” by JHUMPA LAHIRI, the Institute begins a series of evenings with American authors that speak about their ties with Italy. In Jhumpa Lahiri’s case the bond is the language. Lahiri, in fact, winner of a Pulitzer Prize, decided to write her latest book in Italian after having spent three years with her family in Rome. Now this volume is being printed in English, with the parallel text translation by Ann Goldstein.

In discussion, Jhumpa Lahiri, our director Giorgio van Straten and Ann Goldstein.
The event will be in Italian. Simultaneous translation will be provided. The series continues with André Aciman, in March; David Leavitt, in April; and Rachel Kushner in May.
