John Singer Sargent’s Watercolors – Holding Sargent’s Brush

Brooklyn Museum’s Senior Paper Conservator, Toni Owen, speaks with watercolorist Monika De Vries about the mysteries revealed by analyzing Sargent’s pigments, preparatory sketches, and brushstroke technique.

This three-part series will feature a curator, conservator, author, and artist discussing different aspects of Sargent’s life and artistic technique. Tours of the exhibition and watercolor demonstrations will precede and follow the talks. Tickets are $12 when purchased individually, or $30 as a series. Free for Museum Members.
