Two celebrated historians reveal how Lincoln’s remarkable relationship with American Jews impacted his presidency, his policy decisions and, as a result, broadened America.

Jonathan D. Sarna is Joseph H. & Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History and Chair of the Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program at Brandeis University. His newest book is Lincoln and the Jews: A History. Harold Holzer (moderator) has written and edited more than 40 books on Lincoln and the Civil War era and is a recipient of the National Humanities Medal.
