@Macaulay Author Series: Frank Bruni and Jennifer Steinhauer

The @Macaulay Author Series presents journalists from The New York Times Frank Bruni and Jennifer Steinhauer and their new book A Meatloaf in Every Oven: Two Chatty Cooks, One Iconic Dish and Dozens of Recipes – From Mom’s to Mario Batali. The title is quite a mouthful, and there’s more than enough to chew on in the book as Bruni and Steinhauer present the definitive guide to the classic American recipe. A Meatloaf in Every Oven is a love letter to meatloaf that incorporates history, personal anecdotes and even meatloaf sandwiches. While reading the book, you feel like you’re cooking with two trusted and knowledgeable friends.

Bruni is the author of three bestseliing books, including Where You Go is Not Who You’ll Be, about America’s college admissions process. He is an op-ed columnist for The New York Times and previously worked as the newspaper’s chief restaurant critic. Steinhauer is a veteran Times correspondent, passionate chef and the bestselling cookbook author of Treat Yourself.

Interviewing the authors will be food and lifestyle expert Chadwick Boyd. Boyd is a James Beard Foundation Journalism judge and organizes the Southern Food Writing Conference and International Biscuit Festival.

The February 9th event, which is free and open to the public, takes place at CUNY’s Macaulay Honors College at 35 West 67th Street from 7pm-9pm. After a presentation and interview with the authors, they will sign their book, which will be available for purchase. Reservations are recommended. Please RSVP: http://macaulay.cuny.edu/event/registration/?ee=128.
