@MACAULAY AUTHOR SERIES WELCOMES BEST-SELLING WRITER’S NEW BOOK “GIRL UNBROKEN”

On Wednesday, October 19, 2016 the @Macaulay Author Series presents best-selling author Regina Calcaterra (Etched in Sand), along with her sister Rosie Maloney, who have co-authored Girl Unbroken: A Sister’s Harrowing Story of Survival from the Streets of Long Island to the Farms of Idaho. The book continues the compelling story begun by Calcaterra in Etched in Sand of her moving account of growing up in numerous foster homes, homeless shelters, and on the streets, all while trying to protect and keep her siblings together. When the author disclosed the truth of her abusive mother, all siblings were separated by child welfare. Girl Unbroken answers the lingering question, whatever happened to beloved baby Rosie?GirlUnbroken_bookjacket

After a brief reading from the book, Calcaterra and Maloney will be interviewed by best-selling authorChristina Baker Kline (Orphan Train). The session includes an audience Q&A. The program, which is free and open to the public at CUNY’s Macaulay Honors College, runs 6pm-8pm at 35 West 67 Street (between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue). The authors will sign the books, which will be available for purchase. Reservations are recommended. Please RSVP:http://macaulay.cuny.edu/event/registration/?ee=89
