Sean Solomonwill discuss his work as a principal investigator for the MESSENGER spacecraft, which launched in 2004 and successfully entered into orbit around Mercury at 9:10 p.m. EDT on March 17, 2011. With a suite of miniaturized instruments, MESSENGER is now addressing questions that are key to understanding terrestrial planet evolution.
