Migrating Forms: Frances Stark Q&A + Opening Night

Frances Stark has been called “the visual poet laureate of the Internet age” (Los Angeles Times) for an artistic practice in which she has mined both the analog and virtual dimensions of her own life. Her multidisciplinary body of work over the past two decades comprises collage, painting, video, essays, and performance, all of which are united by Stark’s particular brand of startling intimacy. For opening night of Migrating Forms, this program presents a selection of Stark’s video work, including decades of lo-fi cat videos and an animated chronicle of the artist’s sexual rendezvous on Chatroulette.
