Munch’s Repetition

Edvard Munch’s lifelong use of repetition in his paintings and prints was as much about commerce as it was about neurotic preoccupation. This lecture will investigate how the artist’s repeated visual motifs – such as The ScreamMadonna, and The Sick Child– changed and took on new meanings throughout his career.
