New York Genealogical & Biographical Society Lecture Series: Other Places Your Ancestors Might Be Hiding: “Non-Genealogy” Databases and Internet Resources to Explore

Through their rich offerings of online census records, passenger lists, naturalization records, and other sources, websites dedicated to genealogical research have led to an increased interest in family history.  However, there are databases and websites that genealogists might not be aware of which contain information that can be of tremendous value to their research.  Some are free sites and others are subscription databases that may be available through a local public library system or university.  This lecture will provide brief descriptions of some of the more useful “non-genealogy” sites in both categories.
