One Book One New York: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

On June 5th, The New York Public Library and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment will celebrate the culmination of New York City’s One Book, One New York program with a special evening featuring Chimamanda N’gozi Adichie and her book Americanah, which was the winner of the first annual One Book, One New York program.

Launched  in February 2017 by Commissioner Julie Menin – One Book, One New York is the exciting citywide initiative that brought book-loving New Yorkers together to read the same book at the same time. The June 5th event will feature a conversation with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Buzzfeed Books Editor Isaac Fitzgerald at the historic Celeste Bartos Forum. Adichie and Fitzgerald will discuss the many themes in the book, which include immigration, race and love. Broadway and Showtime’s Billions series star, Condola Rashad, will also present a reading from Americanah.
