Paradigm Shifts: Music, Opera & Film Festival

Encompass New Opera Theatre will produce Paradigm Shifts, Music, Opera & Film Festival in mid-May-June, celebrating true stories of courageous change-makers preserving our Planet, Oceans, and Wildlife. Told through soul-stirring films from around the world, and paired with vocalists, musicians, and dancers performing a variety of music from jazz and gospel, to African, Tibetan, Native American, and new chamber music, Paradigm Shifts features talk-backs with the artists and filmmakers. A centerpiece of the Festival will be a staged reading of The Theory of Everything, a new opera tracing the journey of a Brazilian quantum physicist exploring connections between science and ancient Peruvian cosmology. Dramatic events catapult a metaphysical and scientific search into other dimensions and alternate universes. Music by John David Earnest, libretto by Nancy Rhodes.
