ethics talks nycPhilosopher, academic and activist Peter Singer first became well-known internationally after the publication of Animal Liberation in 1975, and is often described as the world’s most influential living philosopher.

His new book The Most Good You Can Do: How Effective Altruism is Changing Ideas About Living Ethically presents the ideas behind “effective altruism,” a challenging new movement of people who want to live more altruistically, and to make sure that what they do has the greatest possible impact for good. Singer will discuss the ideas in his new book with Michael Specter, who writes about science, technology and global public health for The New Yorker. Each ticket includes a copy of the book. A book signing follows this event, which takes place at St. Joseph’s College, Hill Center.
