Pitt Poetry Series with Alicia Ostriker and Sharon Dolin

Please join us Wednesday, April 26th at 7pm for a reading with Pitt Poetry Series poets Alicia Ostriker and Sharon Dolin. Alicia Ostriker will read from her new collection, Waiting for the Light. Sharon Dolin will read from her recent collection, A Manual for Living.

Alicia Suskin Ostriker is a major American poet and critic. She is the author of numerous poetry collections, including, most recently, The Old Woman, the Tulip, and the DogThe Book of Life: Selected Jewish Poems, 1979-2011; and The Book of Seventy, winner of the National Jewish Book Award. She has received the Paterson Poetry Prize, the San Francisco State Poetry Center Award, the William Carlos Williams Award, and has twice been a finalist for the National Book Award, among other honors. Ostriker teaches in the low-residency MFA program at Drew University and is currently a chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.

Sharon Dolin is the author of six poetry collections, most recently Manual for Living (2016) and Whirlwind (2012) both from the University of Pittsburgh Press. Her ekphrastic collection Serious Pink (2015) has been reissued by Marsh Hawk Press. The recipient of a 2016 PEN/Heim Translation Fund grant, she directs and teaches in Writing About Art in Barcelona each June. http://www.sharondolin.com/barcelona-workshops/
