Plaza Swing Series: The Afri-Garifuna Jazz Ensemble

The Afri-Garifuna Jazz Ensemble fuses the language, rhythm and percussive instruments of Garifuna music with Jazz to create a new sound. The ensemble uses Garifuna instruments such as the maracas, Garifuna Drums, turtle shells, conch shells and the Garifuna language along with piano and bass.

Dance lessons are at 6:30, band starts at 7pm. 

In case of rain, the event will be held on Thursday, July 9.
