Please join us for an incredible evening benefiting The Planetary Society! There will be presentations! There will be prizes and a special celebrity guest! There will be an annoying amount of “Uranus” jokes!
The Planetary Society is a non-profit organization that was co-founded in 1980 by Carl Sagan. Bill Nye is the current CEO and Neil deGrasse Tyson is on the Board of Directors. (If that doesn’t get you going, I don’t know what will!) TPS’s main focus is on public outreach, space exploration, research and advocacy.
Not only will we be raising money for the organization, we will also be celebrating the first mission of LightSail, a citizen-funded solar powered spacecraft!
Dr. Joel Green, Project Scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute, will be giving a stellar presentation, chiptune musician Kris Keyser will be throwing down 8-bit beats and, as mentioned, a VERY SPECIAL GUEST will be making an appearance.
