Projects in Planning: Brooklyn Army Terminal Activation Plan

Presentation by Claire Weisz, Principal, WXY architecture + urban design and Julie Stein, Executive Director of Sunset Park at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC)

Doors open: 6:30 pm
Presentation begins: 7:00 pm

Open House New York invites you to join us for a presentation about the ongoing activation planning process to upgrade the Brooklyn Army Terminal’s waterfront campus in Brooklyn. Designed by legendary architect Cass Gilbert and completed in 1919, BAT is known by most OHNY Weekend participants for its iconic atrium, but the 97-acre complex features more than four million square feet of space across multiple buildings and a site that is increasingly supporting many different users and activities.

Now, with the arrival of the new NYC Ferry service and another half-million square feet of renovated space coming on-line for new tenants, the City, with the help of WXY, is working to make the complex more accessible and improve connections to the waterfront for the surrounding community through the design of the public realm. Presenters will include Claire Weisz, Principal, WXY architecture + urban design and Julie Stein, Executive Director of Sunset Park at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC).
