Public Forum: 100 Days

Ever since FDR, the first hundred days of a Presidency have set the tone for the remaining term. The days since January 20th, 2017, have presented a unique challenge to the many reporters and journalistic institutions covering an administration that is erratic and adversarial to them. The New Yorker and The Public Theater bring together a range of voices from both print and broadcast media—MSNBC host Joy Reid; Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold; Bloomberg View correspondent Eli Lake; and Huffington Post editor-in-chief, Lydia Polgreen—to discuss covering President Trump in a time of leaks, lies, and fractured public trust.

Over four evenings in the coming months, artists, thinkers, journalists, performers, and politicians will come together at The Public to consider what it means to be responsible citizens and how culture can respond to politics in the age of Donald Trump.
