Reel Pieces with Naomi Watts

Just nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for her starring performance in The Impossible, Naomi Watts has received acclaim for films including David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises, Rodrigo Garcia’sMother and ChildKing Kong21 Grams and Fair Game (both with Sean Penn), J. Edgar and The Painted Veil.

After a screening of clips, Moderator Annette Insdorf will interview Naomi Watts, followed by intermission and the feature.

The Impossible is a wrenching drama based on the true story of a European family on vacation in Thailand, caught in the tsunami.  The Hollywood Reporter called it “one of the most emotionally realistic disaster movies in recent memory – and certainly one of the most frightening in its epic re-creation of the catastrophic 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.”  Co-starring Ewan McGregor and newcomer Tom Holland, the tale of survival opens in theaters Dec. 21.
