Rouge Ciel: An Essay on Art Brut

Director Bruno Decharme will introduce his film Rouge Ciel, a documentary on self-taught art and artists. Mr. Decharme will take questions after the screening. Wine and cheese reception to follow. Organized in conjunction with Art Brut in America: The Incursion of Jean Dubuffet at the American Folk Art Museum.

Rouge Ciel tells the story of unconventional artists: visionaries who set our spirits ablaze and shake up our ideas about art. It also features interviews with writers, philosophers, and psychologists who have influenced the study of art brut. Rouge Ciel shatters common beliefs concerning art and creation.
