Session I: Workshopping Woodwinds
April 2, 9:30 am–12:30 pm
Musicians David Ross and Benjamin Matus deconstruct a selection of woodwind instruments and the elements of classical music. Participants experiment to discover the secrets of these distinct sounds.

Session II: Strung Out: Violin Making (at Bard Graduate Center and Matthias Lehner Violins, 46 W 65th St, New York)
April 9, 9:30 am–12:30 pm
Study the history and craft of violins with members of the Attacca Quartet. Participants journey to a violin maker’s studio for a behind the scenes look at the handmade construction process and tools of the trade.

Session III: In Time: Collaborative Sound
April 16, 11 am–2 pm
Peek inside instruments and selected musical traditions from around the world with the Attacca Quartet. Participants practice the art of improvisation through collaborative musical storytelling.

$250.00 three-session workshop
