Seriously Entertaining: A Literary Cabaret

Seriously Entertaining, New York’s most intellectually exhilarating literary cabaret, has added yet another top-flight global talent to its November show line-up.

Graham Moore, best-selling author of The Sherlockian and screenwriter of the highly anticipated Weinstein Company movie The Imitation Game, will be among the speakers at the House of SpeakEasy’s Seriously Entertaining show on November 17. Cultural critic Sarah Lewis, who had been scheduled to speak, will now appear at a future date. Moore joins National Book Critics Circle Award winner and ethnic conflict expert Philip Gourevitch; Iranian-born journalist and New York Times best-selling author Hooman Majd; Dan Povenmire, the Emmy Award-winning writer, director and co-creator of Phineas and Ferb; and Ruby Wax, doyenne of British comedy and mental-heath champion. Each writer will take the stage for 15 minutes – unedited and unbound – in the trademark Seriously Entertaining format, riffing, ruminating or reacting to November’s theme: No Satisfaction.
