Teju Cole Presents Blind Spot

From Teju Cole, the New York Times Magazine photography critic and award-winning novelist and essayist, comes Blind Spot, an innovative photographic project that explores how we see the world. From the shadow of a tree in upstate New York, to a hotel room in Switzerland, to a young stranger in the Congo, readers follow Teju Cole’s inimitable artistic vision into the visual realm, as he continues to refine the voice and intellectual obsessions that have earned him such acclaim for his fiction and commentary. In more than 150 pairs of images and surprising, lyrical text, Cole explores his complex relationship to the visual world through his two great passions of writing and photography, creating a testament to the art of seeing by one of the most powerful and original voices in contemporary literature.

Greenlight is proud to welcome Cole back to St. Joseph’s for a textual and visual presentation of his work and a discussion with Brooklyn author Ben Lerner, author of the novel 10:04 and most recently the essay collection The Hatred of Poetry. Book signing to follow.
