Korea and Japan are at an impasse over territorial claims. What is the history of the island divide? Why are sentiments high? What are the domestic determinants of the current crisis in both Korea and Japan? How to bridge the dispute?
A discussion and debate with Professor Alexis Dudden of the University of Connecticut, in conversation with Dr. Stephen Noerper, Senior Vice President of The Korea Society. Professor Dudden will provide historic background, and both will speak to contemporary fissures and ways forward in a lively session that brings respective concerns and audience questions to the fore.
