In 1433, Pope Eugenius IV gave Duke Philip the Good of Burgundy a Communion wafer embossed with an image of Christ as Judge that miraculously bled. Roger S. Wieck, curator of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts, discusses the fascinating 350-year history of the Sacred Bleeding Host of Dijon. This lecture coincides with the opening of the exhibitionIlluminating Faith: The Eucharist in Medieval Life and Art, which will be open until 9pm.
