What Is Our Deepest Desire?

This Dramatic Presentation of Aesthetic Realism features a dramatic reading of Eli Siegel’s hilarious lecture “Susan Glaspell’s Suppressed Desires; or, Freud Is Piffle.”  Also, there will be painter Dorothy Koppelman’s moving, insightful talk “Pride & Humility in Piero della Francesca’s Queen of Sheba. There will be a re-enactment of an Aesthetic Realism lesson given the title “Do you have a good disposition?”  In it, Eli Siegel said: “The next best thing to having a good disposition is to study your bad one.”
