A Day for Art- and Nature-Lovers at the Hudson Highlands

Visiting Storm King Art Center, the splendid sculpture park in New York’s Hudson Highlands, is an especially vibrant experience during the fall foliage season.

Located an hour north of the George Washington Bridge, Storm King is easy to travel to from the city for a day-trip for art- and nature-lovers of all ages.

Plan a picnic or enjoy light fare at the center’s café, take a tram tour or hike the fields, meadows and woodlands ablaze with autumn colors amid large-scale sculptures.

A special exhibition devoted to work by Thomas Houseago is on view now through Nov. 11. A site-specific installation by David Brooks comprising a buried tractor is on view through Dec. 1, when Storm King closes for the season. The Art Center reopens on April 2, 2014. Public programs include concerts, family activities, and docent-led tours.

Admission: $12 adults; $10 seniors, students; free for members and children younger than 5.
