16mm Cartoon Carnival #105: Spooks in Store

16mm Cartoon Carnival #105: Spooks in Store
Sunday, October 23 at 3PM / 6PM
Rubulad, Brooklyn, NY 11237, USA
$15

It’s time for two big batches of 16mm (no digital!) animated cartoons from the 1920s through the 1950s, straight from the Tommy José Stathes Archives—screened *in person* on Rubulad’s silver screen!

For program #105, we’re hosting *two entirely unique* programs of creepy, spooky animated oddities and curiosities in celebration of the Halloween season. This scary selection features many Cartoon Carnival mainstays…from silent era superstars Felix the Cat and Koko the Clown, to later Golden Age favorites such as Betty Boop, Popeye and many others. Each film program contains approximately 90 minutes of cartoons, plus an intermission.

Teaser video: TBA

Be sure to bring all your offbeat film-loving friends out to see these now-rare cartoons the way they were meant to be seen—projected on ‘reel’ film, and enjoyed with a physical audience.

Special added attraction: Acclaimed ragtime musician Charlie Judkins will be providing piano mood music and live accompaniment for silent era cartoons!

Rubulad will have bar refreshments and some light snacks available (typically regular and vegetarian hot dogs, possibly also hamburgers). Please support the venue for all drinks consumed. Bar/food are *cash only.*

-This show WILL sell out –
We have a limited capacity. You and your friends must grab advance tickets quickly, while you still can!

Schedule…

First program:
3pm seating and Half Happy Hour for our first program.
3:30pm introductions and cartoons begin.
(attendees *only* viewing the first program *must* exit by 5:45pm)
